Retreats

Experiences for coming home to ourselves, one another, and the wider world.

Weaving Waters retreats create space to move beyond the rhythms and demands of everyday life and into deeper relationship, with ourselves, with one another, and with the communities and places we inhabit.

Through movement, embodied inquiry, dialogue, music, reflection and shared experience, we explore what becomes possible when people gather with intention.

How We Gather Matters

A retreat is more than time away.

It can be a place to listen differently. To move. To question inherited patterns. To reconnect with the intelligence of the body. To experience ourselves in relationship. And to remember that transformation rarely happens in isolation.

Weaving Waters retreats bring together somatic practice, 5Rhythms® movement, relational inquiry, facilitated dialogue, music, creativity and the restorative qualities of place.

Our approach is trauma-informed, invitational and grounded in choice. There is no single destination participants are expected to reach.

Instead, we create the conditions for curiosity, connection and discovery.

Self. Another. Group.

Our retreats often explore three interconnected fields of relationship.

Self:

How do I experience myself?

We begin with the body: sensation, movement, boundaries, agency, emotion and the ability to listen to what is happening within us.

Another:

What happens when I meet you?

Relationship invites us into another layer of practice — listening, difference, vulnerability, communication, intimacy, boundaries and the possibility of genuine encounter.

Group:

How do we belong together?

Every gathering creates a living system. We explore what happens when individual experiences meet the needs, tensions, histories and possibilities of the larger group.

None of these relationships exists independently. Like water, they continually flow into and shape one another.

Embodied Belonging

Belonging is not the absence of difference.

Nor does connection require agreement.

Our work explores whether we can remain connected to ourselves while encountering another person fully — and whether groups can create enough trust, agency and resilience to hold both commonality and difference.

The body becomes an important part of this inquiry.

Rather than only talking about connection, we practise it.

Rather than only understanding change intellectually, we explore how it feels, moves and becomes embodied.

Movement as Practice

5Rhythms® forms an important foundation of many Weaving Waters retreats.

Created by Gabrielle Roth, the practice uses movement as a pathway into greater awareness, expression and presence. There are no steps to learn and no particular way participants need to move.

The invitation is simply to begin where you are.

Alongside movement, retreats may include facilitated dialogue, somatic inquiry, music, partner and group practices, time in nature, creative reflection and shared witnessing.

Each retreat is different.

The intention remains the same: to create conditions in which something meaningful can emerge.

We Don't Retreat From the World.

We create enough space to meet it differently.

A retreat can give us time to notice what has become difficult to hear in the momentum of everyday life.
